Elaboration:
The Grocery Outlet is finalizing its relocation process from the Lighthouse Square Plaza to the former IGA North store building on Highway 101 in Lincoln City. The closure of the IGA last year marked the start of building renovations for the new Grocery Outlet location. The operators, Richard and Jenny Miller, have been contacted by The News Guard to gain insight into their new food store location. They express a mix of emotions, as the process of closing one store and opening another has been a whirlwind. However, they are grateful for the opportunity to continue serving their community and employing local individuals. The entire team has been instrumental in this transition.
Taking over a location that was once a family-run IGA, considered an icon in Lincoln City, is a significant endeavor for Richard and Jenny Miller. As also a locally owned family-run business, they hope to carry on the legacy established by the previous owners. Both Richard and Jenny have deep ties to Lincoln City, having grown up there, attended Taft High School, gotten married, and even raised their children who now work in the store.
The grand opening of the new Grocery Outlet is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 31. To celebrate the occasion, they will be distributing 100 Bliss Buck Gift Cards to the first 100 customers in line, ranging from $5 to $500 in value. Additionally, there will be a chance to win free groceries worth $1000 through an online contest starting on Monday, August 21 and ending on Thursday, September 28. The store will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., except on Thanksgiving and Christmas. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on opening day, during which the Grocery Outlet will donate $1000 to Backpacks for Kids.
