Sanford Health Wahpeton is providing multiple options for patients to receive their seasonal influenza (flu) vaccination. Patients can choose to get vaccinated during any regular visit, schedule an appointment, or attend vaccine events held every Thursday from Sept. 14 to Oct. 19. The events are scheduled from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. for patients 65 and older, and from 3-5 p.m. for patients 64 years and younger. To make an appointment, patients can use My Sanford Chart or call 701-642-7000.
It’s recommended that everyone ages six months and older receive a flu vaccination annually to reduce the risk of illness or transmission. Certain groups, such as children ages six months and older, pregnant women, individuals aged 50 and older, and those with chronic conditions, are strongly advised to get vaccinated. Additionally, vaccination is also recommended for healthcare workers, caregivers of young children and older adults, as well as individuals living with or caring for people at higher risk for severe complications from influenza.
