Navarro College Celebrates Technology Professor Ron Brooks
From welding for his dad at the age of 17 to teaching at Navarro College, Ron Brooks has had an illustrious career in the welding industry. His journey from the energy sector to the classroom has been nothing short of remarkable.
Global Recognition and Industry Expertise
Before joining Navarro College in July 2022, Ron Brooks made a name for himself in the energy sector and oil and gas industries. His work on projects such as welding submarines for underwater oil exploration and inspecting B2 bombers earned him accolades on a global scale. With teaching assignments in seven countries on five continents, Mr. Brooks brings a wealth of industry expertise to the Welding Technology program at Navarro College.
Advancements in Technology and Instruction
Upon his arrival at Navarro College, Mr. Brooks was greeted by a wave of innovation and advancement in the career and technical programs. Thanks to a Texas Workforce Commission grant, the college was able to acquire state-of-the-art welding equipment, including virtual reality welding kits, air-cooled welding cobots, and a plasma cutter. The addition of the Welding on Wheels mobile welding lab further solidified Navarro College’s commitment to providing students with the best tools and resources for their education.
