Virginia Tech Police Investigate Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Blacksburg

At approximately 3:40 a.m., both Virginia Tech Police and Blacksburg Police responded to the crash on Research Center Drive near Pratt Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered one individual, believed to be the driver, outside the vehicle. Despite immediate life-saving measures initiated by emergency personnel, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other passengers in the car at the time of the crash.
The name of the deceased individual has not yet been released by authorities. The Virginia Tech Police Crash Investigation Team is actively investigating the incident to determine the cause of the crash. As of 11:20 a.m., Research Center Drive has been reopened to normal traffic.
